Sunday on the water

Ok, packing is going quicker than I'd thought... So, I'll do a little more updating here. Last Sunday, we went out on the boat with Ang's friend Dineyli (the saint who will watch Lucas AND Charlotte when Ang goes back to school!), and her family. Couldn't have been a better day! The kids all had a blast and Ang made her debut on the raft :)

Outta here...

Poor kid - didn't get his first taste of spaghetti until this week!

She loves her some Daddy!

We're heading out for vacation for a week... Be back in August! Holy crap - how can it be AUGUST already?!?!? That means I'll have to go back to work. Boo! Anyhow, just wanted to leave you with a few pics before we go... And we got a new camera to take with us - one that will take pictures in bright sunlight and without the 10 second delay!!!

Rice cereal

We gave Lottie her first taste of cereal tonight! She did really well... Didn't spit out nearly as much as we thought she would/Lucas did. Mommy and Daddy each took a turn to feed her - and so did Lucas. Every once in a while she made a funny face, but she seemed to like it well enough... especially since she was cranky all day after getting her vaccines :( Here are a few pics:

Stats

We went to the doc this morning for Charlotte's 4 month check-up. Everything looks great, but she did NOT like the shots! Let's see, at birth she was 19" long and 7 lbs 9 oz. Now she's 24 1/2" long and exactly 13 1/2 lbs - right at the 50th percentile for both. What a difference 4 months makes... We'll be trying cereal tonight, so check back soon for those pics :)

At 4 months, Lucas was 26 1/2" long (wow - 2 more than Lottie!) and one ounce shy of 15 lbs...

Who...

is the real baby around here anyway???

I think Lucas likes playing in/around the exersaucer even more than Charlotte does! We really don't like him in there cause we're afraid he might break it... So, we figured if we ignored it, he'd stop getting in. No luck thus far...

Mr. Fix-It???

Tony made a shelf to go in one of the dresser spaces in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Lucas helped measure, cut, and stain the wood. This is the 2 of them drilling in the hardware to lay the shelf on. Except when they went to lay the shelf in it's place, it was nowhere near long enough! He he he... But they made another and it works great!

Week's Pictures

Happy Birthday!

On Friday, Charlotte turned 4 months old! How the heck has 1/3 of a year gone by since she was born??? We go to the doc this week for her check-up, so check back for her stats. I'm guessing she'll weigh right around 14 lbs, and that we'll start her on rice cereal. Great - one more thing to remember to do twice a day ;P Lottie is usually a delightful little gal (except the hour before she goes to bed). She tries so hard to sit up whenever she's laying down either in the bouncer or in the carseat. She loves to just sit and watch whatever's going on around her. We think she may be losing a little of her extra chin rolls. She's going longer between naps, and usually takes 4 small ones each day. She's a smiley little thing and we're so lucky to have her!
Here are just some cute Charlotte pics from this week:

Early Anniversary

Mommom came over to watch the munchkins while we went on an early anniversary date! We headed to DC for the "Best of Washington 2009 Party" - it was unlimited cuisine and drinks from DC's top 50 restaurants. Yummy! So we walked around for 90 minutes and stuffed our faces with all kinds of things we wouldn't ordinarily get to have. We both enjoyed some brisket and dim sum... Tony tried some sushi and other fishy things. I really liked the 4+ gazpacho soups, some pasta, and a gourmet cupcake. For some reason, I can't remember the other 148 things we ate and liked too; my mind goes blank every time I mention those cuuuupppcakkkeessss!!!! We did not bring our camera :( It was held at the National Building Museum (we got a GREAT parking spot), and here was part of the online ad:
However, there was a cool FREE photobooth where we took these pics! And there were costumes to put on... No, I didn't really wear a zebra cowgirl hat and hot pink boa to the event!!!
