Tall Ships

Also, back in early June, the Tall Ships came to Baltimore.  I didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of going into the downtown harbor with a gazillion tourists/traffic, but I wanted to see them.  So, I took the kids to Sandy Point Park right by the Bay Bridge.   We got to see about 10 ships and the kids got to play.  We invited Sandra, baby Brooks, and Lucas' best pal Jake to join us...

Duh, duh, duh, duh...

That was the traditional wedding theme music, in case you couldn't tell :)  Back in early June, on my last day of school, we went to a wedding of one of Tony's poker buddies (V and Brandon)...  It was on the other side of the Bay Bridge, and all day we'd heard about the terrible bridge traffic.  Lucky for us, we were going by boat...  Mike and Brenda took their boat over, as there's a marina right next to the wedding place...  Got there no problem, spent the night on the boat, and enjoyed a pretty morning on the water!  And the best part was that we got to see Carrie & Jason.  They were back from WA for the occasion, and it was the same place they got married!

2 days later, Carrie, Jason, Becca, & Abby came over for the afternoon...

Kerr Lake - Finally!

We spent from June 16-24 at Kerr Lake again this summer, right on the border of NC and VA.  We went with Jeff, Chasity, Lily & Nathan... and Chris that I work with, his wife Sarah (our bowling partners), and their 11 month old, Jeremiah.  Us and Jeff's family stayed in the main house...  Chris and family stayed in the cottage out back.  This worked out well with the baby...  he could nap/go to bed and not have to worry about noise and the other 4 rugrats!  We had the big yard, walkway to the lake, and private pier!  LOVE leaving the boat in the water!!!  Each family was in charge of a certain number of meals that we'd decided on ahead of time, so that made food pretty easy.  Nathan slept in his playpen in Jeff & Chasity's walk in closet, and the other 3 slept in a bunk bed... Char on bottom and Lucas and Lily up top... sillies!  Even though the rental didn't start until Sunday, we left Friday to go down and planned to spend 2 nights on the boat like we did last year.  However, on the DC beltway, the trailer tire started smoking again...  We've been having trailer issues for over a year now...  Tony called the repair place, and they gave him a way to fix it long enough to get back home to them...  So, we did and delayed our vaca...  The shop did some work and Tony (the genius!) did a little more and problem resolved!!!

So, we headed out early Saturday morning.  No problems at all.  Since it's been over a month since the trip, I'll spare lots of writing...  I'll give a quick recap of the day and then lots of pics... They're all self-explanatory anyway :)  Enjoy...
