We had a pretty packed weekend. Funny too, because all of our original plans fell through... Friday afternoon, we splashed in puddles in the backyard after some huge storms rolled through. Then we took a drive to check on the boat and ate on the water while we were there. Charlotte was unusually cranky in the restaurant, so it was hard to enjoy ourselves as we rushed to finish and leave.
Saturday morning we went to a flea market; Tony's been dying to go for a while now. Then, we played at the park, washed and waxed the cars, and went to a friend's pool where Lucas became a fan of jumping off the diving board!
All dressed and ready to hit the pool!From.... I think I'll just play out here...
To this! Ready...Set...Jump...Splash...Under I go!Mommy and Charlotte hung out and watched!Sunday morning, we went to another park and met up with Carrie, Jason, and Becca. Lucas and Becca played on the playground a we grilled out for lunch. We took a little walk down by the river and rapids and let the kids wade in the water. Lucas took a great nap when we got home and then we headed back to the pool for the evening. At this rate, Lucas will be an expert swimmer come summer's end!

Big Bro & Little Sis
Lucas is becoming more and more interested in his little sister, and it's too cute to watch! He sits next to her bouncer and rocks her and tells her about his toys. When he's doing something, he'll yell "look at this baby Charlick" (that's how he pronounces her name)... If she's propped up on the sofa, he sits next to her and touches her feet and talks to her. He always makes her happy :) We'll see if that still works when they're 6 and 8!!! Here are a few shots I've taken of them "playing" this week...
Puddle Jumpin'
This afternoon we had some mega-thunderstorms. We opened all the windows and Lucas loved pointing at the lightning and listening to the thunder. We got an inch of rain in about 20 minutes. This is when having a backyard that floods comes in handy :) We put his bathing suit on and he went out to run, splash, spin, and toss balls in the pool of a backyard! Miss Charlotte napped thru the entire thing... Oh well, maybe next time girly!

Little Miss Laughs-A-Lot
The past week or so, Charlotte has become more and more active and vocal. Waving arms and legs while cooing and even squealing... She does the sweetest smiles and has become quite fond of sticking her tongue out at people! It's absolutely adorable the way she smiles at big bro Lucas. Here are a few smiles I've caught on camera the past few days:

Memorial Day Weekend
We took a long weekend and spent 5 days in central NY with Ang's parents' at their new house on the Finger Lakes. Ang's brother came up with a friend too. The house and area were gorgeous and it was great to hang out with family! The kids did as well as could be expected in the car for 6 hours each way... Charlotte slept almost the entire time, and Lucas never shut up :) We had conversations about everything he saw on the road, and he did his fair share of demanding snacks, lollipops, and to get out of the car. But for a 2 yr old, he did as well as one could expect! We kept Mommom and Pop busy while we were there... From Lucas getting up at 6 each day (or before!), his never-ending chatter and demands of "you play with me"... But we had lots of fun!
Hiking the gorge at Watkins Glen State Park:
A much deserved treat after hiking (& being carried) over 1.5 miles up a mountain!
Hitting up a few parks - Charlotte mostly slept while Lucas ran around:
Riding the new tricycle that Mommom and Pop surprised him with (he scooted it - no pedals for him!). Notice he even has PJs on - it was the 1st thing he wanted to do in the mornings...
We went to the Glenn Curtis museum where Lucas got to check out old motorcycles, boats, and airplanes... He wanted to touch, climb, sit and ride on them all. Luckily, there was ONE he was allowed to get on:
Pop has a cool bass boat that he and Tony went fishing in a few times. Lucas even got a ride. He kept yelling "super fast" and couldn't get enough. Ha, and we thought he might be afraid!
The greatest thing about the house is the 50-something foot long covered porch that goes across the entire front and side of the house. It was like a long playpen for Lucas. We could relax and he just played, played, played. He wore out the knees of his pants from so much scooting around on there!
Soooo worn out!Dancing to Uncle Matt and Brandon's jam session! She laid like this for quite a while... laughing and sticking her tongue out at Pop! It was too funny. Some lake views:
And since the Finger Lakes are wine country, the post wouldn't be complete without this! There was plenty to go around since right before we got there, Mommom and Pop volunteered at a wine competition and were paid with all varieties of wines! After a great weekend, it was still good to get home. Look how excited Lottie looks:
And poor Lucas was BEAT from 4 days of constant activity... This is him right before he took a nap on the car ride home. A nap that lasted all of 20 minutes. Grrrr...
Thanks for inviting us up Mommom and Pop!!!
