The weekend is only 1/2 over, but we've had TONS of fun!!!
Friday after nap, we took our plastic Easter eggs outside to decorate the tree. Lucas loved hanging them up and climbing...
Tony's sis was in town for some work training that ended Friday morning, so she spent Friday afternoon/Saturday with us. We headed to the Baltimore Harbor and had an early dinner. The kids behaved wonderfully and our waiter was super nice. For free, he gave us carrot sticks/dip for Lucas and applesauce for Charlotte... then 2 ice creams after dinner... Check out below how Lucas is guarding his ice cream from anybody who might try to steal a bite!
After dinner, we wandered over to the aquarium next door. Lucas had been excited about this week. After all, what could be better? Great weather, great company... and on Friday's after 5:00, it's only $8 - instead of the usual almost $30. We were psyched! Until we got in line and realized that the $8 deal is only September-March. Darn it April 2!!! And that it was soooo crowded inside that the next available entry time was over an hour away. So, we ducked out of line and decided to just walk around the harbor.
Must've been fate that the aquarium didn't work out, or we would've missed out on the most adorable thing EVER... Some guy was giving a "free" concert next to the harbor. He was playing old and new songs that everybody knew. We started out in the back row, thinking we'd watch for a minute then keep going. As a joke, we said to Lucas - "why don't you go down there and dance?"... Sure enough, he did... We moved to the front row and sat. Lucas jumped and spun around and clapped his little heart out. Even high school girls were taking his pic with their cell phones :) Even Lottie held her own. She preferred to stay in the backpack, where she kicked her feet, bopped her head, giggled, and clapped. I think she's got some musical talent running thru her! It was heartwarming to watch!!! Except Tony was a tad worried that Lucas found a dancing buddy in another boy... who happened to be carrying yellow flowers in his stroller. We tried to assure him that it's okay for 3 year old boys to run around together with music on... right?!?
Lucas talked on the cell phone to cousin Max all the way home, while Lottie ended up looking like this:
When we got home, the kids went right to bed and we got a fire going out back. Mike and Brenda came over and we all hung out for a few hours...
Saturday morning we hung around the house... Lucas used a long stick to play "egg baseball", or crack and knock down every egg we hung in the tree yesterday. Boys...
Then we went to the flea market and found a few neat things... Lucas got a little rolling Thomas the Train suitcase that we can take on trips. Then we headed to the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company. They were having a pit beef fundraiser. Lucas got to look at the fire engine while we waited for our food. Yummy!
When we got home, we put all the eggs back in the tree and Lucas practiced moving out with his new suitcase!
It was great seeing Tre! And she might be coming back in 2 weeks!!!
