Trick-or-treat

Halloween day was spent hanging out at Jeff, Chasity, and Lily's house. We had some lunch, hung out, and watched the kids play great together! Check out the pic of Lucas and Lily scouring the Toys-R-Us Christmas catelog... By the time we got home, it was 4:00 and we put Lucas down for a much needed nap. That lasted about an hour and then it was trick or treat time!!!
All week, Lucas had been declaring that he was NOT gonna trick or treat and he did NOT want any candy. Though, he was more than happy to tell people that he was gonna be a pirate. He refused to trick or treat last year, so we were really hoping he'd go this year. We even practiced trick or treating at our own house all week... So, Halloween morning came and Lucas said that he wasn't gonna be a pirate - he was gonna be a piggy (Charlotte's costume). The head part fit him fine, but the bodysuit was super short in the arms/legs. Whatever - I was gonna get him out trick or treating even if it was in a hot pink, 4 sizes too small costume :)

As the day wore on, he decided that he'd go back to being a pirate. So, after his nap, we got them dressed. Luckily, the weather was mild... Lucas had shorts and short sleeves on. It was a little drizzly, but nothing too bad. Mommom and Pop came over and we started walking around the neighborhood at 5:30. Lucas did great - he went up to 3 houses and wasn't afraid at all. Then, he tripped, fell, and scraped his knee and lost it... Hysterical cries and shrieks of "hold me Mommy" ensued. I thought that was going to be the end of it all, but after a few minutes he pulled it together and we continued on our way. Charlotte chilled in her stroller the whole time and Lucas trick or treated for about an hour and a half. I think he would've done a lot more, but Lottie was getting tired and he had way more candy than any 2 yr old needs, so we called it quits. He came home, dumped out all the candy and played in it all night and the next morning. I'd say Halloween was a success!
