Hershey Park

Last Saturdaywas Tony's company's day at Hershey Park in PA.  We'd been telling the kids about it for weeks.  Charlotte was excited and couldn't wait to get on ALL the rides "cause she's really brave".  On the other hand, Lucas had been whining/crying that he was scared of the rides and that all he was getting on were the little bumblebees that go in circles super slow.  So, we weren't quite sure what to expect.  Plus, all week they were calling for mostly rain, so we didn't get our hopes up for the perfect day.  However, as the date drew closer, it looked like the storms would hold off until around dinner time.  So, we got into the park at 10:30 a.m. and the first ride we saw was a kid balloon ride.  Lucas and Char waited in line together and got on... and LOVED it!  From then on, we went on whatever ride we saw that they were tall enough for.  I even taught Char to stand up "super tall" (read:  chin up and tippy toes) to get her on more things.  Some things they went on over and over...  Tony hates rides that make you dizzy, so I did those with the kids.  It was more fun than either of us thought it'd be...  We got to go on a lot of rides ourselves, and - brace yourself - we ALL went on a REAL roller coaster... Not the kids where you go upside down - they're not tall enough yet - but the old school kind with drops and loops with just the lap bar holding you in.  The kids loved it!  I had to fight with Char to keep her hands holding onto the bar - she wanted to keep them up in the air like the big kids do!

At almost 5 p.m., Lucas and Tony were waiting in line for another roller coaster, but the bad weather rolled in quickly. They shut down the ride and we RAN back to the truck in the downpour. We booked a hotel overnight just for fun, so we went there and bathed then went to dinner... The kids had a blast jumping on the beds before passing out around 9. What a fun day!!!
