VEGAS x3!!!

I was off work all last week and Tony and I took out 3rd trip in 4 years to Las Vegas.  We are forever indebted to Mommom & Pop, who watched the little ones from Sunday night thru Friday morning.  Our flight left here at 5 a.m. Monday morning, which meant we were up by 2:30 a.m.!?!?  Yikes!  Got to experience the full body scan at the airport, but other than that the trip there was pretty uneventful.  We had a stop in Charlotte, NC and I desperately wanted to find a T-shirt for Charlotte that said "Charlotte".  Nope, none there... Everything said "North Carolina", but we did get her a locker magnet with her name and a pic of the city.  Tony started the first book of the Hunger Games trilogy - maybe the 3rd book I've ever seen him read.  And I was enthralled with my window seat on the plane... such neat terrain to see out west, plus a fly-over of Hoover Dam.

When we got there, we took a shuttle to our hotel - Harrah's.  It was insane with all the people checking in/out (hence the beer as I waited in line - and you just have to love a place where this is completely normal!), as well as visiting the casino.  We finally "checked in", but the room wasn't ready.  So, we had them hold our bags while we ate/explored a bit.
When we finally got in the room, we showered and napped before heading back out.  The first 2 pics below are from our hotel room view...  They desperately need the outside windows washed, but otherwise a great view of mountains and hotels!  Then, it was back out to explore!
2 pics above is my FAVORITE game to play - Lobstermania!  I hunted down this game in every casino where it exists...  It's old, so not many places have it!  Certainly, the highlight of my trip :)

After having such a LONG day on day 1, we were in bed by 10.  Exciting, I know...  We had been up for what felt like almost an entire day and had just had the most amazing burgers at Johnny Rockets!  Day 2, we headed up to the old Las Vegas at Freemont St.  We spent almost 6 hours there...  Breakfast, casinos, wandering, etc.  The slots seem looser up there and the free drinks are more plentiful ;P
This is the pawn shop from the tv series "Pawn Stars"...  I've always wanted to see it, and the bus drove right by!
Back on the main part of The Strip...  Our hotel is right behind us...
Back out after naptime...
Bellagio fountains...  playing to songs from "Titanic"...  really cool with fog
Wednesday morning, we went back up to Freemont St. for the day...  We skipped naptime since it was our last day, and in the afternoon explored Caesar's Palace all the way down to Mandalay Bay.  Man, were we sore!
And we left for home Thursday at noon, but didn't actually arrive until almost midnight...  Uneventful flight home, but we were greeted at our house by 2 things...  1)  me with food poisoning, and 2) Pablo stuck up a tree... More on that one to come...  Stay tuned for all that, plus the story of the purple/green monsters you see above!
