Another trip to Lake Anna

Around lunchtime - 8/5 - the day after getting home from NY, we headed out for a long weekend at Lake Anna, VA. The weather was forecasted to be iffy, so it worked out that there were no campsites available - only mini-cabins. We stayed in one once when Lottie was a baby... It's a mini-house with a front porch. Inside is just 2 bunkbeds (which we pushed together to make bigger beds), a table, and chairs.

After battling some traffic to get there (but no boat trailer incidents!!!), we unloaded at the cabin and headed out to the lake! After a nice dinner, we went to play at the volleyball court. Lucas loved that it wasn't deep at all and he didn't even need his lifevest...
Around 10 p.m., Matt got there just in time for a little porch sitting and bedtime. Saturday morning we headed out for a little water sports. We hadn't used the waterskis since 2 summer ago, but decided to get them out. We noticed that one was noticeable bent/warped. From being shoved in the storage area? From Ang using them last before she lost weight? Who knows??? But Tony was the brave first one to try them out:
He got right up a few times, but quickly fell :( So, we packed them up to throw away... And spent the rest of the day swimming and playing to our heart's content!
We went to lunch at a waterfront restaurant, and then the "iffy" weather began to show up. We huddled under our table's umbrella for a while during the rain, then during what we thought might be a break, ran to the boat and got out of there... After about 2 minutes, the rain was back and harder than ever. Charlotte and I did what we always to in the rain on the boat... Hide in the bathroom:
Tony and Matt had the idea to try and seek shelter under an overpass! The spent a while getting the boat tied up the perfect way under there so we wouldn't hit anything. Poor Lucas kept getting nailed by a waterfall of rain that was coming from the road drain above. Wish I could've seen that, but a few shots snapped from the bathroom will have to suffice!
After that ordeal, the sun came back out and we were ready for more fun!
Back at the mini-house, we had dinner and hung out. The kids enjoyed playing with Matt's guitar...
After breakfast on Sunday morning, Matt left and we went out on the boat for the day. Wonderful weather!
After an early evening storm, we walked to the playground...
Monday morning, we packed up and headed home... A completed trifecta of vacations!
